Indonesia stock info - Dow Jones futures for october 23 2012 ; The stock market is waiting for the presidential election as much as anyone. The U.S. stock market struggled for direction Monday. All three major indexes waffled between gains and losses before closing slightly higher. Investors were underwhelmed by earnings reports from toymaker Hasbro, clothing maker VF Corp., regional bank SunTrust and other companies.

The overhang of the presidential election in two weeks didn't help. Investors are wary of making big moves before they know who's going to be the next president.

They need to know the playing field before they get out there and play, matters more that the election is wrapped up than who is elected. One could say the markets will rally stronger if the Republican candidate becomes president,

The Dow Jones industrial average ended virtually flat. It inched up 2.38 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 13,345.89. A late rise erased a 108-point deficit in the Dow.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index was also little changed, edging up 0.62 point to 1,433.81. The Nasdaq composite index rose 11.34 to 3,016.96.

Dow Jones Recommended Levels oct 23 2012
Today's support: - 13368.14 (main), where a delay and correction may happen. After that 13353.64. Break of the latter will give 13339.20, where correction also can be. Then follows 13316.28. Be there a strong impulse, we shall see 13290.11. Continuation will bring 13262.70.

Today's resistance: - 13416.26, 13466.28 and 13502.77 (main), where a delay and correction may happen. Break would bring 13539.90, where a correction may happen. Indonesia stock info - Why Asian stock markets down october 24 2012 ; Asian stock markets fell Wednesday as risk appetite soured after dismal earnings results led to sharp losses on Wall Street Tuesday, while energy plays tumbled following crude oil's recent decline.

"The U.S. earnings report season has disappointed, with 60% of companies missing revenue forecasts so far," Sean Callow, at Westpac Global Strategy group in Sydney said in a note.

China's October flash HSBC manufacturing purchasing managers' index rose to 49.1 compared with a final reading of 47.9 in September.

Given that Australia exports a significant amount of raw materials to China, the Australian dollar rose against the greenback to US$1.0350 from around US$1.0290 before the data. The pair was recently at US$1.0309.

Although the preliminary reading was an improvement over last month's final number, easing some concerns over the health of Asia's largest economy, the index remains in contractionary territory below 50, indicating that manufacturers are still in dire straits.

"External challenges are still abound and pressure on the job market still lingers. This calls for a continuation of policy easing in the coming months to secure a firmer growth recovery," said HSBC China Economist Qu Hongbin.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was off 0.2% while the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China was down 0.1%.

The Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.3%, with euro-linked exporters broadly weaker as the euro edged lower, extending Tuesday's losses. Canon lost 0.9%, Honda Motor slid 0.7% and Advantest dropped 1.3%.

The single currency was at $1.2982 against the dollar, from $1.2986 late Tuesday in New York, and at Y103.63 against the yen, from Y103.69.

Apple suppliers underperformed after Apple unveiled the iPad Mini Tuesday as investors were concerned with the pricing of the new tablet. Foster Electric dropped 1.2%, Ibiden declined 1.1% in Tokyo, while Hon Hai Precision slipped 0.2% and Pegatron lost 3.0% in Taipei.

Resources plays dragged Australia's S&P/ASX 200 down by 0.7% as global growth worries led to sharp declines in copper, silver and palladium prices Tuesday. BHP Billiton skidded 1.2%, while Fortescue Metals was down 0.8%.

Higher-than-expected third-quarter inflation data also weighed on the Australian market as it dented expectations for an interest rate cut at the Reserve Bank of Australia's November policy meeting.

However, Masashi Murata, senior currency strategist at Brown Brothers Harriman played down the impact of the economic data noting that the figures were within the margin of error. "Focus is more on overseas economic factors rather than domestic factors," he said.

Energy companies were broadly lower after front-month December Nymex crude oil dropped 2.2% Tuesday to close at its lowest level since mid-July. Inpex dropped 1.4% in Tokyo, SK Innovation tumbled 1.9% in Seoul, Woodside Petroleum lost 1.7% in Sydney, and Cnooc slid 2.0% in Hong Kong.

December Nymex crude oil futures were 42 cents higher at $87.09 per barrel on Globex.

SK Hynix outperformed in Seoul after it said it swung to a net profit in the third quarter. Shares rose 3.9%.

South Korea's Kospi Composite fell 0.8%.

In Hong Kong, Esprit plunged 12.2% on share dilution concerns after the company announced a rights issue plan. The struggling fashion retailer plans to raise up to US$677 million in a 1-for-2 rights issue priced at HK$8.00 each, which is below the stock's current trading price around HK$10.92.

forex trading asian session oct 24 2012

Indonesia stock info - forex trading asian session oct 24 2012  ; The dollar hovered near a three-month high versus the yen on Wednesday, supported by hopes for more Bank of Japan monetary easing, while the Australian dollar rose as traders trimmed back bets for its central bank to cut interest rates next month.

The U.S. dollar held steady from late U.S. trade on Tuesday at 79.82 yen, hovering near the previous day's high of 80.02 yen, its peak since early July.

The yen has retreated over the past few weeks on growing market expectations that the Bank of Japan will unveil further monetary stimulus at its policy meeting next week in a bid to help the export-focused economy through a global slowdown.

The Australian dollar rose 0.5 percent to $1.0315, having extended its gains after a survey of Chinese manufacters reduced worries of a hard landing in China.

"We may start to see a counter move toward putting risk back on, especially after the risk-off moves we saw the previous day," said Satoshi Okagawa, senior global markets analyst for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Singapore.

Earlier in the day, the Australian dollar had risen after data showed Australian consumer prices rose a surprisingly large 1.4 percent last quarter, prompting the market to scale back bets that Australia's central bank will lower interest rates at its next policy meeting in November.

Interbank futures , which had been implying a two-in-three chance of a quarter point cut from the current 3.25 percent cash rate at the Reserve Bank of Australia's Nov. 6 policy meeting, trimmed chances to about 50 percent after the inflation data.

The euro held steady at $1.2987.

The euro had dipped to as low as $1.2952 on Tuesday, when Spanish bond yields rose in the wake of credit downgrades of five of Spain's regions by Moody's Investors Service.

Expectations that Spain will apply for a bailout, prompting the European Central Bank to start buying its bonds, have helped support the euro in recent weeks, although uncertainty over the timing of such a move has helped to limit its gains.

Against this backdrop, the euro has traded in a range of roughly $1.3170 to $1.2800 since mid-September.

The euro will probably continue to find strong support at levels near $1.2800, said Sim Moh Siong, FX strategist for Bank of Singapore.

"We could still see a relief rally if there is a formal request for aid from Spain. So near-term, I'm looking for one last push up in the euro where I'll be interested to sell if it does go higher," he said.

impact Hurricane Sandy on stock market

Indonesia stock info ; impact Hurricane Sandy on stock market : Asian shares rose modestly but momentum was curbed by a giant, powerful storm that shut U.S. markets overnight, while the dollar held gains against the yen ahead of a widely expected policy easing by the Bank of Japan later on Tuesday.

The most notable market impact from Sandy, one of the biggest storms ever to hit the United States, appeared to be felt in oil prices, which fell as forced closure of refineries reduced demand in the world's largest oil consumer.

Early reports suggested New York City was facing some of the worst-case scenarios forecasters had warned of, with widespread flooding through the city, while millions near the East Coast were without power.

"People can't go out, they can't use, they can't consume," said Jonathan Barratt, chief executive of Barratt's Bulletin, a Sydney-based commodity research firm. "Crude inventories are running pretty high, 11-12 percent above a 5-year average."

U.S. crude futures slipped to just above $85 a barrel on Tuesday, near the lowest in more than three months, while Brent crude edged down near $109 as investors watched for any impact on markets from Hurricane Sandy.

U.S. stock and bond markets will be closed again on Tuesday.

The MSCI index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.3 percent, recovering from a two-week low hit on Monday. Seoul and Taiwan equities led the gains.

Taiwan stocks jumped 1.3 percent, pulled higher by LCD and computer makers following positive earnings news, while South Korean shares added 0.6 percent after a fall below a key level spurred bargain hunters.

Australian shares edged up 0.2 percent.

The world's largest money manager, BlackRock Inc, downplayed the impact of Europe's financial woes on commodities markets on Tuesday, and said robust Chinese demand and an improving U.S. economy will support growth. China is Australia's largest export market.

Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.4 percent.

The dollar inched up 0.1 percent to 79.86 yen, not far from a four-month high of 80.38 yen touched on Friday.

Markets expect the BOJ to ease policy by boosting asset purchases by at least 10 trillion yen. They also see a possibility of the central bank taking more measures to beat deflation and support the economy.

The dollar could fall in a knee-jerk reaction to the policy decision, but the weakness of the Japanese economy will likely keep the yen's underlying bear trend intact.

Data on Tuesday underscored the risk that the world's third-largest economy may slip into a mild recession. Japanese household spending unexpectedly fell 0.9 percent in September from a year earlier, while industrial production plunged 4.1 percent in September from the previous month, marking the biggest decline since the aftermath of last year's earthquake.

EURO LACKLUSTRE

Later on Tuesday, Hong Kong-listed Standard Chartered will unveil its quarterly trading update. The Asia-focused bank will likely show it is on track for a 10th straight year of record profits, but rising bad loans in some of its main markets such as India could dent its results.

Also on Tuesday, India's central bank will announce a policy decision. The bank faces growing pressure to cut interest rates for the first time since April after the finance minister pledged to rein in the country's fiscal deficit.

The euro was stuck in its recent range, steadying around $1.2913, but pressured by political jitters in debt-laden Italy and the uncertain bailout outlook for struggling Spain and Greece.

A threat by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to withdraw support for Mario Monti's government pushed Italian and Spanish yields higher and supported safe-haven German Bunds and U.S. Treasuries on Monday.

Asian credit markets were lacklustre, with the spread on the iTraxx Asia ex-Japan investment-grad

The iPhoney 5

Ken O’Brien
I don’t know who to feel sorrier for, Barack Obamaor the American public.
Mitt Romney is like some kind of freakishFrankenstein’s monster created by Steve Jobs as a parting joke.
Last night we witnessed the unveiling of the all new iPhoney 5. Let me take you for a moment through this product line’s evolution.
The iPhoney 1 debuted in 1994 as a candidate toreplace Ted Kennedy as US Senator from Massachusetts.
The iPhoney 2 gained prominence in 2002 when it waselected Governor of Massachusetts.
The iPhoney 3 was a candidate for the Republican nominationfor President in 2008 before being outsold by McCan’t reboot.
And, just prior to last night, we witnessed the dominanceof the iPhoney 4 on its long march toward gaining the Republican nomination forPresident in 2012, eclipsing the McCan’t reboot with its Palin 1.0 add-ons.
At each stage following the iPhoney 1, subsequentmodels acquired new affectations (Affs) while shedding previous, outdated (i.e. inconvenient) ones.By the time the iPhoney 4 rolled out it was totally unrecognizable as whatstarted out as the iPhoney 1.
That brings us to 9 pm October 3, 2012 and theunveiling of the iPhoney 5. Gone was the tax plan Aff, even though it was claimed to remain the same,  but with different computational algorithms employing irrationalnumbers.
The Health Care Aff from the iPhoney 2 had returned, but it was genetically modified so that it could escape proof of parentage tothe current Affordable Care Act.
A new mapping and global positioning Aff was viewedby knowledgeable insiders as defective, but the public accepted its ability to be simultaneously in multiple positions all at the same time.
These, as well as a number of other innovative Affs, known to insiders as the smoke and mirrors upgrade, confounded the competitor and its sales and technical support staffs leaving them dazed and disoriented, victimized as they were by a commitment to facts, logic and common sense.

As a result the new iPhoney 5 was lauded as aremarkable improvement by the preview audience whose willing suspension ofdisbelief was more accurately described as extreme gullibility.
Once again the creators of the iPhoney 5 havevalidated the venerable dictum of P.T. Barnum of how frequently a particularpersonality type is born.
