Democracy is when the minority can have a word, have rights to assemble and peacefully demonstrate the vision. When I first time saw Occupy Toronto demonstration on a street, escorted by two dozens of policemen, I caught myself thinking how the hell they get a permission for such provocative demonstration. Then I've been watching organizers discussing with the head policeman which way to go in order not to collapse a lot of traffic. Then I realized that in order to protest you don't need to have any "permission".

If you want to have a group of people standing outside their point of protest - you just stand there and that's it. Well, of course it is a good tone to inform local municipality and police about big actions so they can allocate proper number of guards TO PROTECT YOU against provocateurs and hooligans.

In December 2011 I went to street protest myself. I realized how important for our lives to have a position. To have a right to voice your position and to have the ability to stand up for it.

Today 33 people have been detained in Moscow. They fought for their freedom of expression of their political views. Officially they have been detained for wearing white ribbons - a symbol of their vison and their democratic believes.
